Year End Planning 

The taxpayers and voters have cast their votes and we have a new presidential direction in 2021. However, the results of the senate may not be known until  next year.  What does this all mean for estate planning professionals? 

Join us as Attorney Andy Pharies of DLA Piper, LLP and Jon Beyrer, CFP of Blankinship & Foster share new and old strategies for year-end estate, tax, gift, income, financial and charitable planning with their high-net worth clients.




Jon Beyrer 

Jon Beyrer is a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner and is enrolled to practice before the IRS). He is a principal and lead advisor of Blankinship & Foster and serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Jon earned his Master of Science in Financial and Tax Planning in 2001 and his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1995 from San Diego State University.


Jon is an active leader in the financial planning profession and is a past president of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of San Diego and the Southern California Compliance Group. Passionate about giving back to his community, Jon serves on Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Estates and Trusts Executive Committee and is the co-founder of the Professional Alliance for Children, a public charity that has assisted hundreds of families of ill children with legal and financial issues.


S. Andrew Pharies 

S. Andrew Pharies is a partner with the international law firm of DLA Piper’s San Diego office.  His practice includes counseling clients on all aspects of domestic and international estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax planning, charitable planning, family business planning, and dispute resolution.

Andy Pharies received his B.S. from the University of California, Riverside and a J.D. from the University of Oregon, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review.  Mr. Pharies is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates (since 2013) and has been named a “Super Lawyer”  in Trusts and Estates (since 2008). 

He is a fellow in the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC) and a member, Advisory Board, UCLA-CEB Estate Planning Institute among many other accolades.




Continuing Education Credits Pending:

This continuing legal education course is intended for Experienced Attorneys and Newly Admitted Attorneys and is pending for up to 1.0 California MCLE credit hour, 1.0 New York CLE credit hour r, 1.0 CFP credit for CFP® professionals and certificates will be available for CE credit for CPAs and CSPG professionals.
