Belsky is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego county in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in December 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ronald S. Prager.\n \n \n \nBelsky earned a B.A. in history from Hobart College in 1974. He then attended the University of Miami School of Law, where he received a J.D. in 1977.\n \n \n \nBelsky began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. Lewis B. Whitworth of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in 1976. Then, in 1978, he joined Eliassen, Postel, and Mee, where he briefly worked as an associate before moving to Rhoades, Hollywood, and Neil in 1979. Belsky then served as vice president of Sulzner and Belsky from 1986 to 1992, all before starting the Law Offices of Belsky & Associates.
